Cette initiative d’un montant de 142 millions de dollars, lancée par le PAM et ses partenaires dans les pays du Golfe de Guinée, vise à répondre aux besoins humanitaires, mais aussi au développement à plus long terme.
Les déficits de financement records menacent les opérations du Programme alimentaire mondial, et poussent des communautés déjà à risque au bord du gouffre.
En renforçant les systèmes d'alerte précoce, en prévoyant les risques climatiques et en donnant aux populations un temps de préparation précieux, le PAM donne aux communautés les outils dont elles ont besoin pour se protéger contre les effets du climat.
Alors que le pays marque le sombre anniversaire de dix ans de conflit, Hussam Al Saleh, du Programme alimentaire mondial, partage son histoire, les moments qui l'ont affecté et ses inquiétudes pour l'avenir de sa patrie.
